China imposes quarantine on 17 million people due to Coronavirus outbreak

Home quarantine was imposed on the 17 million residents of the city of Shenzhen in southern China, after 66 new infections with the Coronavirus were recorded, according to what the local government announced, which also closed the business district.

After closing non-essential places and banning restaurants in recent days, the city authorities, which shelter tech giants such as Huawei and Tencent, have asked residents to stay at home in the face of the outbreak of Omicron infections.
