The director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Rami Abdel Rahman, stated that more than 40,000 Syrian fighters have registered to go to Ukraine to fight alongside the Russians.

He pointed out that “these people will go in exchange for financial temptations and privileges.” He explained that until now, no one has left Syria to fight in Ukraine, and none of this information can be independently verified.

Russian President Vladimir Putin recently said that volunteers wishing to fight alongside Russian forces would be allowed to go to Ukraine.
