Ex-ambassador and friend of Donald Trump wants to buy Chelsea Football Club

The Spanish newspaper, Marca, revealed that the former US ambassador to Britain until last year, Robert Woody Johnson, or as he is known simply as “Woody Johnson”, a very close friend of former US President Donald Trump, is confident of his ability to buy Chelsea Football Club. Johnson currently owns the New York Nets club in American football and revealed that he has big plans for Chelsea if he manages to complete the purchase supervised by the British government, due to the sanctions it imposed on the president and former Russian owner Roman Abramovich.

Johnson is preparing to make an offer of approximately 3 billion euros, and is betting heavily on his strong relations with British officials to complete the acquisition. Johnson, 74, is one of the pillars of the famous American family that owns the “Johnson & Johnson” brand, and the family’s fortune is estimated at $28 billion. Despite the strong competition from a number of billionaires who want to own Chelsea FC, Johnson sees himself as the most worthy, and most capable of bringing about the required change in a great and prestigious club like Chelsea.
