The Kremlin described today (Friday) US President Joe Biden’s statements about his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin as “personal insults”, and said that his statements appeared to be caused by agitation, fatigue and forgetfulness.
Biden has described Putin as a “war criminal” and “a murderous dictator” in the past few days after he sent tens of thousands of troops to Ukraine in a move he said was a “special military operation” aimed at stripping Kyiv of its military capabilities and getting rid of what he described as dangerous nationalists. As reported by Reuters news agency.
“We hear and see statements that are actually personal insults to President Putin,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
He added, “Given Mr. Biden’s usual irritability, fatigue and sometimes forgetfulness… fatigue that leads to hostile statements, we will not make any harsh assessments so as not to cause more hostility.”
