Adviser to the Ukrainian president, Mikhailo Podolyak, confirmed Saturday that Russian forces are “quickly withdrawing” from areas around the capital Kyiv and the city of Chernihiv in northern Ukraine.

“With the rapid withdrawal of the Russians from the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions … it is quite clear that Russia is prioritizing a different tactic: the withdrawal to the east and south,” Podolyak said on social media.
